Chimney Removal, Room Configuration Southville, Bristol
Date
As a part of a much larger renovation, this is an example of how we can engineer spaces away from their original purpose to accommodate modern living standards. In a row of Victorian terraces in sleepy Southville, this room once had a sizeable chimney brest taking up valuable space, as well as a dingy shared shower room to service the house. We relocated the family bathroom to the front of the house - see our Southville Bathroom project - and knocked out a dividing wall to create a much bigger bedroom. As well as tis we took down the chimney stack all the way to the ground floor, adding several feet of extra living space, before bricking back up to create a seamless, smooth wall run. The result was a delightful, large and airy guest bedroom for the 21st Century.
